Deep Freeze

The night gets colder, freezing still
The night gets windy, come to chill

Not much snow, but lots of ice
So much frozen, a high price

Water takes so long to boil
Animals curled up in coil

I hope my home’s not bug infested
For that my fears would be attested

Waking I look outside to view
Nothing, ice put me in the queue

The panes are icy frosted through
None can see in, nor out, you

Trapped by ice can’t open doors
The cold seeps in through all your pores

Hope you found your winter coat
I’d hate to see ice you to coat
